STRATELUS is a telehealthcare and biomedical research company founded in 2005. We are based in Lithuania and our key markets are Lithuania and Nordic Europe. Our key business and research partners are Ultrasound and Biomedical Research Institutes of the Kaunas University of Technology, Finnish companies Optomed and Emtele.

Our unique and unparalleled knowledge base and clinical experience come from our staff and research associates who are the leading health care, life sciences research and biomedical engineering professionals in the region and have long been associated with such leading regional health care, research and technology institutions as Kaunas University of Medicine and University Hospital, Kaunas University of Technology and Finnish Telemedicine Association.

Experience and publication of our staff and associates have been recognized at a number of international conferences and publications. Our telemedicine and biomedical area of activities is coordinated by Professor Alvydas Paunksnis, Medical Doctor, who has over 20 years experience in bringing the latest science and diagnostic technologies into the daily health care.

Our Business

The business area of STRATELUS is:

· Medical diagnostics, monitoring and evaluation in tele-ophthalmology, tele-dermatology, tele-cardiology and tele-radiology

· Development of the Telemedicine services network in Lithuania and the Nordic European region

· Development of methodology and equipment for advanced diagnostics of eye tumours

· Outpatient ophthalmology clinic; patient screening at mobile locations

· Distribution advanced diagnostic devices for ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology (see our section "Products")

Why Telemedicine

Telemedicine provides an opportunity for more effective and more efficient delivery of health care because it can eliminate barriers between doctors and patients where physical visiting is not available, and it is more convenient and cost-efficient than having physical visits. That is the reason why telemedicine is a growing area both in developing and developed countries. Also, it is absolutely necessary in emergencies and disasters. STRATELUS is currently developing a network for telemedicine services delivery in Lithuania that will offer full doctor and patient connectivity for diagnostics and consulting via telemedicine, in the way and location most convenient for the patient. Teleophthalmology has been launched in Vilnius in June 2006, and will be followed by more locations.
